Christina's gay fans can drown their sorrow

Fri 3 Aug 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

Christina Aguilera's cancelled Auckland concerts have disappointed her many New Zealand gay fans -- and now Urge bar invites Christina's would-be concert-goers for a free drink tonight to commiserate. Christina's two concerts were cancelled at the last minute as the 'Beautiful' singer recovers from the flu. Her Melbourne shows were also cancelled this week. GayNZ.com heard from several Aguilera fans who felt let down by the singer -- some of whom had traveled up from Wellington especially to experience her live show. Concert refunds are available from Ticketmaster from today, but ticket holders may wish to wait until tomorrow to return them -- Alan Granville, co-owner of K' Road's Urge bar, has invited Christina fans to bring their ticket in tonight from 9pm for a free first drink. "Also, any time a Christina Aguilera song is played, drinks are half price for duration of the song," announces Granville. "On behalf of the diva we are so sorry, but remember you are all so beautiful, in each and every way."     Ref: Urge, GayNZ.com (m)
