TV doco to tell Kiwi stories of gays and God

Wed 1 Aug 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

'Don't tell me Jesus loves me until you are ready to love me too' will be a television documentary exploring the relationship between Christian faith and coming out. Georgina Nacachi-Silveira says she's keen to get in touch with anyone interested in telling their personal story of what part spirituality played in either hindering self acceptance and/or enhancing confidence in their homosexual identity. "I'm also interested in how gay people live their faith and reconcile their Christian faith-based values with gay community values," she explains, "or if they've decided that Christianity and/or a belief in God is no longer important to them." Nacachi-Silveira has funding through the Open Door project which will be broadcast on TV3. "I have worked with Open Door/Morningside Productions in the past and found their team fantastic, safe and professional to work with," she says.
