‘Out Takes' LGBT film festival organisers Reel Queer are pleased to announce the results of this year's audience awards. Out Takes viewers voted on the official website for their favourites from this year's screenings. Amercian lesbian comedy ‘Itty Bitty Titty Committee' took the award for ‘Best Narrative Feature'. The film had also won the audience award at this year's LGBT film festival in Melbourne. Other narrative features to appeal to Out Takes voters were ‘Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds', ‘King and the Clown [Wang-ui Namja]', ‘Another Gay Movie', ‘Nina's Heavenly Delights' and ‘Keillers Park'. Voted best documentary this year was ‘Eye on the Guy: Alan B Stone and the Age of Beefcake', the story of a gay erotic photographer in the 1950's and ‘60's. Other documentaries rated highly by audiences were ‘Bob and Jack's 52 Year Adventure', ‘Secret Love', ‘FtF: Female to Femme' and ‘Outlaugh!' The audience award for Best Narrative Short Film was given to ‘Available Men' – a comedy of mistaken identities which played before ‘Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds'. Audiences also enjoyed ‘Private Life' and ‘Disposable'. Most of the feature films and a limited number of the documentaries can now be bought on DVD - Reel Queer suggests checking out outvideo.com.au for your favourites. Submissions are open for next year's festival from September 2007. “Remember there is nothing like seeing it on the big screen with your friends, so look out for some great new features coming your way from Reel Queer next year,” says the film festival team.     Ref: Reel Queer (M)
