Openly-gay cinema and DVD reviewer Steven Gray has been asked to co-host TVOne's lifestyle programme ‘Good Morning' for a two-week stint while regular co-host Sarah Bradley is away. From the 9th to the 20th of July, Gray will present the three-hour weekday show with regular co-host Brendon Pongia. “It'll be fun,” Gray tells us. “I didn't think they'd want two guys to do it, but they asked me and I'm thrilled. “I've told Brendon that I'm the pretty one,” he laughs. Gray has had a regular segment reviewing movies on the show for eight years, and also co-hosted the show for several days last month. The show starting at 9am on Monday 9th July will see him in the Make-up room talking to Facelift prosthetic artist Deb East and Actor Darlene Mohekey. East will be transforming Mohekey into a mystery celebrity. He'll also be doing a ‘Body Attack' aerobics routine with Alistair Galpin – “It's normally quite high intensity stuff, but I'll tell him to go a bit easier,” Gray giggles. “On Friday the 13th we'll be at Civic Square in Central Wellington with Alistair Galpin. We'll attempt to break the record for most hugs in an hour, the current record stands at 612.” Ref: GayNZ.com, TVNZ (m)
