Fri 8 Jun 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

'One in Ten', New Zealand's only nationwide gay radio show, has begun ‘podcasting’ it’s feature interview onto the internet each week. Beginning this week with Monday's interview with Stefano Olivieri from ‘Dancing With The Stars’, hosts ‘Billy and Bob’ will podcast audio of their feature interview from their Monday night radio broadcast on George FM. The audio will be available on GayNZ.com’s podcast page for internet surfers both in New Zealand and around the world to download and listen to on demand. Every week there’ll be an interview with “someone of interest to the gay community, not necessarily a gay person, but somebody of interest,” says Billy. Previous interviewees have included Family Karaoke queen ‘Cindy from Samoa’, ‘Green’ Dean Campbell and representatives from community events including the ‘Out Takes’ film festival. Eliot Rudolph from the Royal NZ Ballet is the next scheduled guest on Monday 11th June, with ‘Swan Lake’ opening night tickets to be given away to listeners who text in to the show. The weekly two-hour programme began in March, with George FM’s programmers saying: “gay, straight, bisexual, lesbian or other, you'll find the show content humorous, informative and even poignant.” Features include weekly special guests, gay news from GayNZ.com with Hot Toddy, Gary's Gay Gig Guide and more with DJ Billy spinning an eclectic mix of music. ‘One in Ten’ is broadcast each Monday night from 10pm until Midnight on George FM frequencies around New Zealand, and Sky TV audio channel 504.
