A TradeMe member from Central Wellington has bid $500 to meet UK electropop stars the Pet Shop Boys later this week – and the auction is still open. The auction package includes two tickets to the Pet Shop Boys' first-ever New Zealand concert at Auckland's St James Theatre, and a drink with the duo backstage afterwards. The charity auction is for the benefit of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation. Tickets are still on sale for Pet Shop Boys' concert on Thursday 29th March. The cost is $89.90 plus booking fee. The last Trade Me charity auction benefiting the NZAF was a meet-and-greet with Elton John - $11,050 was raised. Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant told ‘the official Pet Shop Boys joke' in Melbourne's The Age newspaper today. “How many Pet Shop Boys does it take to change a light bulb? Two. One to change the light bulb and one to look bored”. The Pet Shop Boys TradeMe auction closes at 9pm tomorrow (Tuesday).
