If you're a gay or lesbian New Zealander of Asian descent, a new creative writing volume would like the print your ‘coming out' story. Writers are invited to send contributions for an anthology of creative writing that addresses the Asian experience in New Zealand. Writing which addresses any of the following areas will be especially welcome: growing up an Asian New Zealander; work and the workplace; intercultural friendship and romance; women's issues; ‘gaysianz' and ‘lesbasianz' come out; past memory and future hopes. GayNZ.com book reviewer Claire Gummer says she's looking forward to seeing points of view not yet explored in NZ literature. "When I worked at the Women's Bookshop I was sometimes asked for books – from any country – that related Asian experiences of being gay/lesbian, and never had anything positive I could suggest," she explains. For more details and submission guidelines contact Daniel McKay (nzanthology@hotmail.com). Submissions should be mailed to Anthology Project, PO Box 6236, Upper Riccarton 8442, Christchurch by 31 July 2007.     Ref: GayNZ.com (m)
