British electropop superstars the Pet Shop Boys are heading to Auckland next week for their first ever New Zealand concert at the St James Queen St on Thursday March 29, and an opportunity for two lucky fans to meet the duo is being auctioned off to the highest bidder on Trade Me. The charity auction is for the benefit of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation. The prize package includes two tickets to the Pet Shop Boys Auckland show, and a drink with the duo backstage after the show. The auction is open from today and closes at 9pm on Tuesday March 27. The last Trade Me charity auction benefiting NZAF was a meet-and-greet with Elton John held in December last year at his Wellington concert, organised by Phil Sprey of Capital C Concerts. $11,050 was raised. “We're very grateful to the Pet Shop Boys for agreeing to this auction, following the precedent set by Elton John last year,” says NZAF Fundraiser Ref: NZAF (m)
