Tue 27 Feb 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

UK Electropop stars the Pet Shop Boys are coming to Auckland for their first-ever New Zealand concert date. Openly gay musician Neil Tennent and Chris Lowe will perform on Thursday 29th March, joining the New York Dolls, Groove Armada, Gnarls Barkley and The Rapture in coming here before their Australian ‘V Festival' dates, the New Zealand Herald reports. Tennent came out in UK gay lifestyle magazine Attitude in 1993. The Pet Shop Boys duo are sometimes incorrectly assumed to be a couple, but Lowe remains silent about his personal life. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, from TicketDirect.
