New Zealand's larger-than-life TV and stage performer Mika says he's collected a stellar lineup for his 3am performance at next weekend's HERO Party. Auckland's St James Theatre will host the 42BELOW HERO 2007 Party on Saturday 24th February. From Concorde Dawns Evan Short to NZ's most distinguished Haute Couture designer Patrick Steele Mika has collected what he describes as “a very s-t-y-l-y crew for what is the Party of Parties on the social calendar”. Steele's one-off design for Mika is loosely described as “a cross between Cher and Lenny Kravitz with a touch of Manawairua (fanstastic spirit)”. Make up and hair is by Joel at MAC, with his sensational use of color and style for Mika's Beautiful People show revisits the ‘Grace Jones' period of high camp disco. Five stunning male dance will perform a range of maneuvers from Hip hop to haka, jazz and contemporary - and are decked out in LEVIs, MOOKS, Globes and Mossimo. Choreography is by Taupuhi Toki, with original music by Concorde Dawn's Evan Short. Film is by lesbian filmmaker Paea Kelvery and a host of other designers – altogether they make this show the one to see in 2007. Organiser Michael Modrich says well over a thousand tickets have been sold to the HERO party. Buying tickets before Midday this Thursday means you go into the draw to win a Sydney Mardi Gras holiday for two. ******** All the details for this year's HERO Party are on the top link below.
