An ambulance was called to Wellington's ‘Our Bar' on Thursday evening, after a woman slipped off a chair. Patrons of the popular Cuba Street LGBT contacted GayNZ.com to check the woman was all right after the accident. Bar manager Margo Yule says the ambulance was called just as a precaution. “It wasn't a huge drama at all,” she says. “It was just a case of someone slipping off a chair. It was someone who already had a condition of frail joints, so we were taking precautions. It was a friend of ours. “She's all right now. She was in the bar last night!” says Yule. Our Bar will feature a live band on Saturday 10th February. All-girl rockers ‘The Band Called Dave' will play to launch Wellington's premier dance party for women, called ‘Bite the Apple'. Organiser Caroline Prendergast describes the nights as “hot, dark, fast and loud. “We wanted to create something that was sleek and sexy,” she explains. “Unlike other women-only dance parties which often have an awkward balance between people who want to party and people who want to chat, ‘Bite the Apple' provides a great opportunity for women to get their grove on - after all, there's plenty of time for chatting the morning after!”     Ref: GayNZ.com (m)
