Family boss to expand his empire

Wed 8 Nov 2006 In: New Zealand Daily News

The owner of two Auckland gay nightclubs will open a new gay-friendly restaurant next month. Wayne Clark, owner of gay K' Road nightclubs Family and Supermarket, tells GayNZ.com he's turning the old Voodoo Lounge in Auckland's CBD into an upmarket pub. The Vulcan will be upstairs at number nine Vulcan Lane. "Lunches and dinners served seven days a week. It's basically an upmarket pub with a pub menu. We'll also have a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays, playing '70's and '80's remixes, from 10pm until three in the morning." Clark reveals. "It won't be exclusively gay, but it'll certainly be very gay friendly." An opening party is planned for 15 December 2006.     Ref: GayNZ.com (m)
