Brash donates cash to Rainbow Youth

Mon 28 Aug 2006 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Leader of the Opposition, Dr Don Brash, has donated money to Rainbow Youth, after “very much enjoying” the ‘We Are Family' variety show held as a fundraiser for the organisation, which provides support and networking for Auckland LGBT youth. Brash was invited to attend, and was accompanied by his wife Je Lan Brash, National List MP Dr Jackie Blue, his Chief of Staff Wayne Eagleson, and Chair of the Auckland Central National Party Michael Coote. “It was a great evening, and all of us very much enjoyed the concert,” said Brash. “I was very impressed with the work which Rainbow Youth is doing, and since the concert was intended as a fundraiser, I was embarrassed that my party had received complimentary tickets. My wife and I made a personal donation intended to more than cover the cost of the tickets for all our party.”     Ref: GayNZ.com (d)
