NOON: The New Zealand AIDS Foundation is launching a nationwide constitutional review road show today, with meetings scheduled for Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. The meetings form a part of a wide constitutional review process agreed to at the 2005 Annual General Meeting, and follows the release of a discussion document last month. “Time will be allowed at the meeting to explore each of the sections in the discussion document, and for an open forum at the end,” says NZAF Board Chair Hoani Jeremy Lambert, convenor of a working group, which was established in May to oversee the constitutional review. Also on the working group are Cameron Law (NZAF board), Warren Lindberg (former NZAF Executive Director), Michael Stevens (former Chair) and Richard Tankersley (former Trustee). “This is an important process which will seek clarification from members as to how they see NZAF's future direction and focus,” says Lambert. “Members have the option of airing their views at the consultation meetings this month, or in writing if they'd prefer.” Feedback from the meetings and written submissions will guide the working group in developing a series of constitutional options for members to decide upon at this year's AGM, with a final raft of remits being sent out to members in time for a special general meeting scheduled for June 2007. The deadline for written submissions is 25 August 2006. The discussion document can be accessed on the NZAF website, through the link below.
