The 'gay pattern of life' is the same as 'adultery' or 'greediness' as it is inconsistent with Christian teachings, a visiting Anglican Archbishop told the Christchurch Press. Visiting from Australia, Archbishop Peter Jensen has taken aim at Christians that promote the ordination of women and gays to the ministry. "If they were really concerned about unity they wouldn't have brought in the innovations which they know will be resisted on conscientious grounds," Jensen said. The church should not bow to 'popular cultural trends' but should remain true to the Bible's teachings, he said. Jensen, the Archbishop of Sydney, defended his stance, saying he was not divisive. Rather, "I think the people who have brought in the innovations are often divisive."
