Gay Wellington Helpline needs men!

Mon 1 May 2006 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Gay Wellington Helpline is searching for men to provide counselling and information for men who are gay or bisexual or think that they may be. The service, formerly known as the Gay Switchboard has been providing a confidential telephone service for gay men for many years now. The organisation now needs a new intake of volunteers to ‘man' their phones. Hours of operation are 7.30pm to 9.30pm, 365 days each year. Gay Helpline is operated by the Gay Welfare Group, and provides a wide range of information, such as advice about accommodation, referrals and counselling. A Gay Helpline Training Intake Day will be held this coming Sunday 7 May from 9.30am until 4.30pm in Wellington. If you think you've got what it takes, and would like to contribute your time and personal experience to helping other gay and bisexual men, please phone 04 473 7878 or email helpline@gaywellington.orgwith your details.
