Addressing a Grey Power meeting on the Kapiti Coast yesterday, Winston Peters told the group that Labour's "gender bending agenda" is far from over, and there will be nothing anyone can do to stop it. Peters said that current Labour MP Georgina Beyer has legislation ready which would make it illegal for an employer to challenge a transgender or cross-dressing employee because it would be a breach of human rights. Currently there is no law stopping such discrimination. Mr Peters told Grey Power that it will only be a matter of time before a “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” turns up at schools to teach children, and there will be nothing anyone can do to stop them. Meanwhile National Front is urging its supporters to vote for New Zealand First, because the right-wing extremist group supports many of NZ First's policies. National Front is not running in this year's election, because many of its members have joined the new Direct Democracy Party who are running candidates in many electorates. National Front Spokesman Sid Wilson says he expects New Zealand First to be pleased that they will get the votes of National Front supporters.
