Representatives from the Catholic Church have complained to the Electoral Commission about the use of a cross in the National Front Party's logo. The cross is an important symbol to the Catholic Church and other Christian churches. Catholics say the National Front, a right-wing nationalist group, appear fundamentally opposed to Christianity; and the logo therefore could cause both confusion and offence. The National Front have traditionally been associated with extreme racist and homophobic policies.
