Liquidation sale at Peron bookstore

Mon 1 Aug 2005 In: New Zealand Daily News

After being refused re-entry to the country by the Immigration Service following allegations that he was once an advocate of paedophile material, gay US immigrant Jim Peron is to have a liquidation sale at his Auckland bookstore Aristotle's. Friend and supporter James Jenkins says Peron “has probably the biggest stock of Gay/Lesbian literature in New Zealand, and due to his circumstances and the fact his lease on the shop was due to expire anyway he has asked me to organise to sell as much of his stock as possible.” Peron is currently back in the US, looking for a location to relocate his bookstore after some months travelling round the world. After being informed by Immigration early last month that he was not allowed to return to New Zealand as his visa had been revoked, he put in an appeal. Jenkins says Peron has been told his appeal will not be heard till at least the end of September.
