United Future MP Larry Baldock's private members bill, aimed at amending the Marriage Act to specify that it can only be a union between a man and a woman; has been pushed back from debate in Parliament until after the election. Baldock says that he drafted the Bill in response to Civil Union Legislation, preventing gay couples from legally challenging their right to marry in New Zealand.
