Maori Queen attending Brian's ordination

Thu 16 Jun 2005 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Maori Queen, Dame Te Atairangi Kaahu, will be in attendance when Destiny Church's guru Brian Tamaki elevates himself to the title of Bishop this Saturday. Members of Destiny from around the country will converge in South Auckland and the anti-gay fundamentalist group says "many dignitaries from a wide diversity of New Zealand society" including former All Black Bull Allen will also attend the morning event. Later in the day Destiny NZ, the church's political party offshoot, will launch its parliamentary election campaign. It claims at least 2,000 people will attend and has 42 candidates contesting all Maori plus around 30 general electorates, mostly in the North Island.
