Destiny fielding 42 anti-gay candidates

Wed 15 Jun 2005 In: New Zealand Daily News

Destiny New Zealand, the political party linked to the anti-gay fundamentalist Destiny Church, says it will contest 42 electorates in this year's general election. Party leader and disgraced ex-policeman Richard Lewis says Destiny will field candidates in all Maori seats, with the remainder mostly in the north of the country. The party has been preparing its election strategy for more than two years and will launch its campaign at a rally in South Auckland this weekend.
