Dr Clive Aspin has been elected Chairperson of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation Board and is the first Maori to be elected to that position. Aspin, who lives in Auckland with his partner Terry and nine year old son, is of Ngati Maru descent. He has experience of the Foundation and the AIDS epidemic in New Zealand, having worked on the first national survey of men who have sex with men, a research programme that was conducted by the NZAF.
