Pop diva and gay icon Kylie Minogue has cut short her Australian tour following a shock breast cancer diagnosis. Australian concert promoter and long-time friend Michael Gudinski said the singer would immediately undergo treatment. "It was diagnosed this morning. She is a pretty fit, strong girl. I'm hoping and praying because the doctor found it so early that everything will be OK," he told reporters. "Our thoughts, and I'm sure all the legions of Kylie's fans, will be with her all the way." Some of Kylie's New Zealand fans had booked tickets for her Sydney concert months in advance, including former Queer Nation host Steven Oates, who planned to attend tonight's concert with a posse of ex-pat Sydney-based drag queens, including Mufti Dae. Oates, who flew to Sydney early this morning, says he was looking forward to going tonight, but will be attending a group Kylie celebration dinner with other fans instead. "We wish her the best in her recovery,” he says. "We'll be thinking of her over dinner."
