The New Zealand AIDS Foundation has received an anonymous $10,000 donation to assist in its work preventing the transmission of HIV and supporting people affected by HIV and AIDS. The Foundation says although it receives funding from the Ministry of Health and other government departments these contracts do not cover all of the work it does. "Without the generosity of people such as this anonymous donor a lot of the work we do for people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS could not be done." The Foundation says the work it also does around queer human rights issues, such as supporting Homosexual Law Reform, Human Rights Law Reform and Civil Unions is also “hugely dependent” on fundraising and donations.
