"Practise what you preach!" says exporter

Fri 27 Aug 2004 In: New Zealand Daily News

Destiny Church has come under fire from MADENZ, a Nelson-based exporter of New Zealand-made products, after the fundamentalist church's angry acolytes marched on Parliament against Civil Unions wearing black tee shirts "cut from the cloth of China." "As well as turning his back on New Zealand tee shirt manufacturers and workers, it seems that Pastor Brian Tamaki is willing to turn a blind eye to a brutal foreign regime that incarcerates practising Christians and condones the burning-down of peoples' homes if they are found to be 'house churches' of worship," says MADENZ. "Perhaps it is time for Mr Tamaki to take a plane load of his followers to Tienamen Square where they can shout "Enough is Enough" against Christian persecution in China."
