Jet-setting homos to invade Queenstown

Sat 31 Jul 2004 In: New Zealand Daily News

Queenstown looks set to be inundated with jetsetting homosexuals for the second annual gay Ski Week, with organisers experiencing a large amount of global registrations. "We have been amazed at the level of interest we have received from off-shore with bookings from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Germany," says organiser Mike Sanford. "Gay ski weeks at Aspen and Whistler attract up to 6,000, which is an indication of the Queenstown ski weeks potential." Back by popular demand for gay Ski Week will be Auckland's favourite snow queens Buffy and Bimbo, showcasing their new production Wigs over Wakatipu. "Last year's show was a sell-out and already tickets are going fast," says Sanford.
