United Future MPs have vowed to continue their fight against civil unions following yesterday's close vote. "This is far from over. It's a close call," says leader Peter Dunne, adding that the legislation was on a "knife edge". Larry Baldock named the three abstaining Labour MPs as potential converts to the United Future cause, predicting that many of the bill's supporters will cave over the next few months. "They have a real uphill battle," he says of the bill's supporters. All eight United Future MPs, a largely Christian interest party, voted against the bill.
