The "question of homosexuality" has been brought back out into the open where it belongs by the civil union debate, says Herald columnist Garth George. He believes that there are only an "infinitesimal" number of gay couples. "But the minuteness of the pro lobby doesn't make them any less vocal. The outpourings of heterophobia in the past week have been something to behold," he says. However, he believes the civil union bill is a good idea because it will allow people choice.
