Civil union supporters meet in Wellington

Supporters of the Civil Union bill in the Wellington region are invited to the launch next Wednesday of CUBSS, the Civil Union Bill Supporters Society. The society is being formed by a small group of people who have been associated with the promotion of human rights over a number of years, with its aim being to to foster an understanding of the impact of the legislation and its associated Recognition of Relationships Bill. "The Civil Union Bill is seen as an important step forward by government in line with the Human Rghts Act," says spokesman John Jolliff. The meeting will be held at 7pm on Wednesday May 19 at the Johnsonville Community Hall.
