Barrymore to be sued over death

Thu 1 Apr 2004 In: New Zealand Daily News

Gay entertainer Michael Barrymore is being sued for approx. $NZ300,000 by the family of the man who was found dead in his swimming pool. Nobody has ever been charged in connection with the death of Stuart Lubbock who died three years ago. The writ apparently accuses Barrymore, who now lives in New Zealand, of failing in his duty of care. Lubbock's father says he felt justice had not been done and he is taking legal action to try to find out what had happened to his son. An open verdict was recorded at the inquest, which heard that Lubbock had suffered severe internal injuries before his death.
