Tabloids still hounding Barrymore

Mon 5 Jan 2004 In: New Zealand Daily News

The British tabloid assault on Michael Barrymore continues, with claims that the New Zealand-based entertainer has left behind a $3.8m tax debt at home. The Daily Mail reports that Barrymore and his partner Shaun Davis, who arrived in New Zealand last Tuesday after spending Christmas in Hong Kong, have bought a home in “one of Auckland's most exclusive suburbs”. Spokesman Mike Browne says that Barrymore has several options for work lined up. As well as a New Zealand version of his variety show “My Kind Of People” which has been previously discussed, he also has a role in an independent film called Back And Forth and is in discussions to present a morning radio show.
