Entertainers Jools and Lynda Topp have made the New Years Honours list, becoming members of the New Zealand Order Of Merit. The NZ Herald this morning notes their rise over the last few years from successful entertainers to “veritable Kiwi icons”. The out and proud lesbian twins grew up on a farm in the Waikato and started out their singing careers as a busking duo. They were politically active throughout the 80s on a number of issues, including homosexual law reform. They are now working on their first feature film.
