Renowned author Witi Ihimaera is endorsing today's Red Ribbon Day street collection for HIV/AIDS, which this year is a smaller operation with a targeted focus on takataapui, whakawahine and faafafine groups. The collection will be in central locations in Auckland and Wellington only, organised jointly by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation's Hau Ora Takataapui programme, to which Mr Ihimaera is adding his voice to the work of, and the Pacific Men's project. NZAF Positive Health manager Kevin Baker says money raised will go towards additional campaigns and activities with Maori and Pacific people.
