Latest express newspaper editor resigns

Tue 4 Nov 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

The revolving door of the Express newspaper editorship has spun again with the resignation today of Mike Binis. Binis was appointed editor of the national gay newspaper by publisher Richard Todd earlier this year and said after his appointment that he believed he was appointed to bring a warmer, community feel to the paper. Express has had a succession of new editors over the past three years, including Victor van Wettering, Peter White, Julian Cook, and David Herkt. Several of the ex-editors have said that emerging incompatibilities with publisher Todd were behind their brief tenures. No official announcement has yet been released from the express offices and Binis says he would like to pause for a few hours before commenting publicly.
