Car vandalised outside gay bar

Sun 2 Nov 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

A patron to MALGRA, Palmerston North's gay and lesbian bar, had his car vandalised while it was left parked outside the venue. The man, who wishes not to be named, says his car was "probably" kicked in, causing over $3,000 worth of damage. He says nearly every panel on the car's body was excessively damaged and that it was obviously not a robbery attempt because "no locks were touched, and with that force a window could have easily been broken". Nothing was taken and the culprit has not been found. "I'm putting it down to homophobia," the man said.
