The end of gay gossip?

Sun 12 Oct 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

A further nail in the coffin of gay gossip has been driven in by the announcement from OUT! Magazine that it will be discontinuing its 'Connie Caustic' page, starting this month. "Mainly I believe, like express and GayNZ.com, that the days of the gossip column are well and truly over,” says editor Warren Chapman-Taylor. “As well, there is not a lot of juicy gossip out there.” The editors of newly-national gay newspaper Up have said that they have no intention of following the lead of other gay media and discontinuing their 'Natasha's Gossip' page. "After talking to many people, we've decided it's all in fun and most people love it... however, we'll try our hardest to keep the content in this column a little friendlier..." said a statement in Up's September issue.
