Videotape teacher resigns

Wed 24 Sep 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Takapuna Grammar teacher accused of supplying drugs to teenagers and videotaping their use at his house has resigned. David Arthur has been charged with supplying class-A drugs and allowing their use at his home, following the discovery of a videotape made by Arthur which allegedly features male students smoking P and another lying naked on a bed. Board chairman Graham Prentice said that David Arthur had tendered his resignation and that it had been accepted by the board. "The board would like to reiterate that it has received no complaint from either students or parents of Takapuna Grammar School with regards to Mr Arthur's behaviour." "The board has no further comment to make," he added.
