St Andrews on the Terrace is partnering with Rainbow Wellington to continue its support of the local transgender and gender diverse communities. The Friday afternoon tea event, Tea on The Terrace, is the third partnership between the church and Rainbow Wellington, the first being the Trans Day of Remembrance followed by the 2017 Rainbow Room Series. “St Andrews has a long history of being a part of the community and cultural life on The Terrace, for example with its Lunchtime Concerts. By utilising the space on our front porch, St Andrews will be bringing new life and festivity to the top end of town,” says a spokesperson for the church. As part of tomorrow’s International Transgender Day of Visibility, the afternoon tea event will feature speeches, an information stall and the front of the church will be decorated in the colours of trans pride. From 4pm, a short seminar presentation “Stepping into the light - a transgender journey” will be hosted by Rainbow Wellington. Tea on the Terrace 2.30pm - 5pm 30 The Terrace, Wellington
