Boat party so popular crowds turn up for after-party

Mon 13 Mar 2017 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback View at NDHA

Saturday night’s Christchurch Pride ’Gays Away’ boat and bus party has been deemed a huge success. Photo thanks to Christchurch Pride With 85 people attending and the event selling out a week prior to Saturday’s party, it was so popular that people without tickets showed up at the bus afterwards to join in the party. Christchurch Pride organisers say “the feedback has been amazing!” The double decker party bus cruised to Lyttelton before boarding the Canterbury cat cruise, taking a two hour trip around the bays. The rain wasn’t enough to damp anyone’s spirits and after the cruise, party goers jumped back on the bus spending a few hours bar hopping, ending at Vespa Bar where they partied into the small hours of the morning. The party was nautical themed and the best-dressed on the night won a bar tab and HIV prize pack.
