Registrations are now open for InsideOUT’s annual Shift hui. A weekend hui for youth of minority sexualities, sexes and genders, Shift is an opportunity to make connections, attend workshops and learn about the issues facing rainbow communities. Those attending will also have the chance to gain new skills and knowledge to help them set up or sustain a queer-straight alliance in their school or community. With a change of venues this year to Horouta Marae in Porirua, there is only space for 50 attendees and 50 volunteers, with places being fairly distributed across the regions as much as possible. Registrations close on the March 17 and those who are successful in their application will be informed by March 21. Head to the Shift hui website to register.
