The art show, at the Black Box Theatre, will feature over 150 art works from rainbow, queer, trans and rainbow-friendly artists with some art works for sale. Nic Dorward of Q-topia, the glbti youth group behind the free Mardi Gras at Lyttelton's Albion Square from 5-8pm, says it will be a colourful evening including performances by JOLT, Instant Fantasy, Top Tap, Cr Turner, Wurld Series, Faultline and others. "There'll also Poetry, food, art and fun activities for the whole family," Dorward says. "Mardi Gras is all about masks, costumes, beads, music and dance" so she is urging people to "get dressed up or come and check out the costumes and join the fun!" Chch Pride continues over the weekend with a boat party, bear events and the TraNZaction Tea Party on Saturday, and Paddle Boarding, a Cashmere garden trail, yoga and a church service on Sunday.
