Auckland police have confirmed suggestions that a woman who was brutally beaten and left for dead in a West Auckland quarry was abducted shortly after watching the Pride Parade. The 23-year old woman was subject to what the police have described as a "very disturbing, nasty attack." She woke up extremely traumatised in a quarry in Riverhead, finding herself injured, partially naked and with a man standing over her with a bat. She has been treated for serious gashes to her head and face and a broken thumb. The Police believe the woman met her assailant around 10.30pm and have confirmed reports she had earlier been watching the parade with a group of friends. Her 'blackout' has police concerned she may have been drugged. Police are looking for any information on the man in this picture, taken on the forecourt of the Mobil petrol station on the corner of Karangahape and Ponsonby Roads, the last place the woman was seen before the attack. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 021 191 4085.
