A dawn ceremony at Western Park this morning kicked off the Auckland Pride Festival 2017. Muffins, scones and hot drinks were provided after the 45-minute long event which in past years has been held at Orakei Beach. A Gala show tonight at the Q Theatre will present a sampler of the festival's events which include theatre, dance, films, parties, visual ares an many other expressions of glbti culture. Also tonight at the Q Theatre loft is the opening night of the Carry On...-style show Camping featuring among the cast Chris Parker of Hudson and Halls Live! fame.
