The Rainbow Wellington Sport and Culture weekend is fast approaching and the DSW Swim Meet has announced a change of venue. Captain of DSW Swimming, Richard Arnold says the change was brought about by Freyberg's maintenance not being competed on time as the tile glue hasn't cured in time to re-open. As a result Saturday’s swim meet will now take place at Kilbernie Pool. He says “We still have the same number of lanes, but the length is shorter, (25m rather than 33m), so we've had to change people's seed times when setting up the heats.” In addition to this, Arnold says “There won't be the usual dive blocks for dive starts, but we'll be in the 2m deep part of the pool, so we can still have dive starts, they'll just be from the poolside rather than elevated on blocks.” With 27 entrants currently registered, competitors are from a range of clubs including Wellington’s DSW and TAMS in Auckland. Registration has technically closed, however late entrants can try their luck by contacting the organisers at admin@dsw.org.nz Other events across the weekend include Bikram Yoga on Friday night, Readers and Writers at Pink Ink Book Club on Saturday and a fun run, dance workshop and roller derby on Sunday.
