Pulse massacre gunman's wife arrested

Tue 17 Jan 2017 In: International News View at Wayback View at NDHA

The wife of the gunman who killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in the Orlando gay nightclub massacre in June last year has been arrested. Noor Salman Noor Salman was arrested just hours ago in the San Francisco area but neither the basis for her arrest nor any charges laid are yet known. At the time of the massacre, at Pulse nightclub, Salman said she had no knowledge of her husband's plans. Some Pulse regulars have said the gunman, who called himself an 'Islamic soldier,'  had been seen socialising at the club and there is speculation he may have been motivated by struggles accepting his own sexuality in the face of his father's often-expressed religious homophobia.
