George Michael dies, "peacefully at home"

Mon 26 Dec 2016 In: International News View at Wayback View at NDHA

One of the world's most openly gay entertainers, George Michael, front man for the 1980s group Wham who went on to have a stellar solo career, has died, apparently peacefully, at home. Michael, 53, who was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, sold more than 80 million albums throughout a career spanning almost four decades. He is not known to have been unwell recently but in 2011 nearly died from pneumonia. His family have asked for privacy and will not be releasing any further information for now.     GayNZ.com Daily News staff - 26th December 2016
