Plans for troubled gay entertainer Michael Barrymore to relaunch his TV career in New Zealand are at an advanced stage. My Kind Of Kiwis is being planned as a series of four one-hour specials which will see Barrymore travelling the country as a “slightly bamboozled Englishman and encounter the essence of being Kiwi”, according to Great Southern Television, who is developing the show to be pitched to local networks. Barrymore made his return to the stage in New Zealand last month, performing to sell-out crowds and earning rave reviews.
