Boy George/Culture Club Auckland show cancelled

Tue 22 Nov 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Culture Club, the UK band fronted by gay entertainer Boy George, have now cancelled their Auckland show, just weeks after canning their only other scheduled appearance in New Zealand, in Christchurch. The announcement has been made by the show's promoters who give no reason for the cancellation. Boy George infamously walked out of a Seven Sharp interview when asked about the effects of controversial incidents in the past which saw him found guilty in 2009 of falsely imprisoning a male escort. After the walk-out he launched a Twitter tirade against interviewer Toni Street. Shows scheduled for Australia will still go ahead at this stage. Refunds for tickets already sold can be arranged through the ticketing agencies.
