The Los Angeles anti-gay attack victim Homophobic and racist abuse and violence appear to be increasing across the USA in the wake of Donald Trump's presidential election victory. In one savage attack in Los Angeles a gay man was badly beaten (pictured) with a bottle outside a bar by men who appeared to be Trump supporters and who yelled homophobic abuse at him. The incident happened just minutes after Trump's victory was announced. Amongst other incidents a transgender woman's car was painted with the word 'Trump' and set alight and there are emerging reports of an upswing in suicides by transgender people and increasing rates of calls to helplines. In the streets homophobic, racist and anti-Muslim graffiti and attacks are being reported, with female Muslim students having their headscarves torn off. Black Americans and those of Hispanic appearance are also reporting being increasingly abused in public.
